İSTANBUL - Child psychiatrist Dr. Dilara Aktürk spoke about sexual abuse and violence, she said, "There is a serious incomprehensibility. While child psychiatrists, forensic specialists, psychologists, pedagogues, sociologists and other social scientists should be thoroughly discuss these issues, unfourtunately, only politicians discuss these in an diffirent aspect. Child and the child psychology rarely have been talked."

Sexual violence and abuse have been increased in Turkey by feeding from the discourses of state authorities. The government speakers's discourses that legitimizes sexual abuse after the sexual abuse of students by a teacher of Ensar Foundation came to light, have had reactions from every segment of society. Child psychiatrist Dr. Dilara Aktürk, who has study in Germany on child psychiatrist, compared the diffirent between Germany and Turkey. She said, "The verdict of non-prosecution hasn't been declared for rapist and the children haven't been sentenced to life imprisonment in Germany.

"There is a serious incomprehensibility in Turkey about child abuse. While child psychiatrists, forensic specialists, psychologists, pedagogues, sociologists and other social scientists should be thoroughly discuss these issues, unfourtunately, only politicians discuss these in an diffirent aspect. Child and the child psychology rarely have been talked."

Dilara stated that we must to believe in the children when they mention that they have suffered from sexual abuse. "Traumatized children have difficulty in talking about what they faced. They usually try to talk about this indirect way. We have to provide a safe place for the children who suffer from sexual abuse. The children feel guilty and ashamed of themselves. We have to tell them and motive them that this is not guilty."
