AMED - The Democratic Society Congress (DTK) co-chair Leyla Güven evaluated the political genocide operations against the representatives of the Kurdish people which have increased recently. "Almost all Kurdish people, including women, children and erderly people, have been jailed. The Kurds have been prevented from doing politics by the judiciary." said Leyla.
Political genocide operations under the name of KCK operations, which started on April 14, 2009, have continued nonstop. The reactions from many people and NGOs have increased against the detention and arrest operations on the Democratic Regions Party (DBP), the Free Women Congress (KJA) and Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP). The Democratic Society Congress (DTK) co-chair Leyla Güven, who was detained on April 14, 2009 in KCK operations and stayed in jail for five years, evaluated the political genocide operations against the representatives of the Kurdish people. Leyla said that they, as party, had a great success in 2009 and the government didn't tolerated this success and the detentions were started with KCK operation on April 14, 2009.
Leyla pointed out that the success of a party has been ignored by the judiciary. She said that the operations, which started in 2009, have continued since then. Tousands of people had been arrested in 2009 to bring Kurds to their knees. Leyla mentioned that the AKP tried to bring the Kurds to their knees in cities and the PKK on mountains like Sri Lanka style. However, the AKP could get any result from these policies and the Kurds have persisted on their demand of freedom. The AKP began to negotiation with the PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan when they couldn't get any result from their policies. "There was a solution, however, the AKP lost this chance by turning back to 2009 and began political genocide operations. The AKP must know that they cannot get any positive result this time, too." said Leyla.
Leyla continued to talk by saying, "Almost all Kurdish people, including women, children and erderly people, have been jailed. The Kurds have been prevented from doing politics by the judiciary." said Leyla. 77-year-old woman can be arrested with small reasons. It isn't possible to speak of law in Turkey. They cannot get any result with these operations. Kurds will continue to demand their right request. Kurds will resist against pressure how they did before."
