SILEMANÎ - April 22 is the 118th anniversary of Kurdish Journalists Day. Şino Ebdullah Pencewînî is one of Kurdish journalists. She noted that female journalists still work under pressure and she said that female journalists must be in unity and solidarity.

April 22 is the day of Kurdish Journalists Day. This year the 118th anniversary of Kurdish Journalists Day will be celebrated. The SNN news site reporter Hêro Yasin and the personnel of the Peyam TV Channel Şino Ebdullah Pencewînî pointed out that female journalists, who work in Kurdistan, have faced social and the state's pressures. Hêro stated that very few female can be directors or editors in Kurdistan and she said that thare are gendered discourses in many TV channels in Süleymaniye. "Men want to be effective in all areas of media. There are gendered discourses in Kurdish media."

Şino Ebdullah Pencewînî, meanwhile, said that she has worked as journalist since 1996 and she is reporter in Peyam TV now. Şino stated that female journalists must be in unity and solidarity and female journalists must be more active in Kurdish media.
