Violent clashes continue in Şırnak, Nusaybin

ŞIRNEX/MÊRDÎN - As violent clashes and heavy bombardment have continued in the center of Şırnak and in the Nusaybin district of Mardin, hundreds of houses have been demolished in the Silopi district of Şırnak.

Martial law has entered in the 35th day in Şırnak. Clashes and bombardment continued in the city all night. State forces attacked nonstop the Bahçelievler neighborhood by using tanks, artillery and howitzer last night. Fire broke out in many houses. Violent clashes erupted between state forces and the Civilian Defense Units YPS/YPS-JIN when state forces tried to enter the neighborhood.

Meanwhile, the clashes have continued in the İsmetpaşa, Cumhuriyet, Yeni and Dicle neighborhoods of Şırnak for 25 days. Hundreds of houses and stores have been demolished in the neighborhoods by state forces.

Detention operations have continued in the city. According to reports received, Ahmet Erkan, the driver of the HDP MP Leyla Birlik, was taken into custody on the Şırnak-Siirt junction and the Şırnak Municipality personnel Mahmut Sevik was taken into custody in Kumçatı (Dêrgul). Two citizens were taken to Police Station in the city. More than 40 people have been taken into custody and nearly 20 people have been jailed in the city in 10 days.

Bodies of three YPS fighters have been identified by their families in Şırnak. Three YPS fighters' names are Zana Kılınç, Cemil and Mehmet Sait Külter.

SİLOPİ

24-hour curfew has continued in the Silopi (Silopya) district of Şırnak for 15 days. Hundreds of houses have been demolished in the Başak (Zap) neighborhood by state forces despite there isn't any clash in the neighborhood. Citizens, who forced to leave their houses, have to live with their relatives, who live in the Yenişehir, Dicle and Ofis neighborhoods.

NUSAYBİN

As 24-hour curfew has continued in the Nusaybin district of Mardin for 36 days, violent clashes have continued in the town.
