WAN - A proposal of a constitutional amendment lifting the legal immunity of parliamentarians which was prepared by the AKP government has been submitted to the Parliament. The reactions to the alliance between the Justice and Development Party (AKP), Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) and Republican People's Party (CHP) have continued. The Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Van co-chair Gülistan Orhan said, "Lifting the parliamentary immunity won't affect our party. We will continue our democratic struggle under any circumstances. We will resist with our all organized power."

The AKP government prepared a proposal of a constitutional amendment lifting the legal immunity of the HDP parliamentarians. As the proposal has been submitted to the Parliament, the CHP and MHP say they will approve the proposal for the constitutional amendment. The reactions against their discourses have increased. The Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Van co-chair Gülistan Orhan emphasized that the AKP can't stand the different identities and pluralistic democracy. And the only barrier against the AKP's "monist" mentality is the HDP. Gülistan said, "The AKP's power of palace wants to approve the constitutional amendment lifting the legal immunity of the HDP MPs to impose its policy of "Obey or we'll cut your head" against women and the people with different identities. This constitutional amendment is the continuation of the politics that you will obey or we'll ignore you. The AKP can't stand the different identities and pluralistic democracy. The AKP has continued its existence with monistic, racist and fascist politics. The HDP is the biggest barrier for the AKP to impose presidential system."

Gülistan emphasized that the HDP adopts an egalitarian, libertarian and ecological paradigm. The Kurds, Turks, Sunnis, Alevis, Circassian, Arap, women, youth and LGBTI people found the strength in Parliament through the HDP's paradigm. The HDP has continued its struggle against the AKP's genocide, destruction and denial policies.

"The AKP put the representatives of the Kurdish people into prisons under the name of KCK operations in many cities.Did this political genocide solve anything? No. It only deepens the problems. Kurdish people never surrender against the genocidal operations and denial policies.

"Lifting the parliamentary immunity won't affect our party. We will continue our democratic struggle under any circumstances. We will resist with our all organized power."
