WAN - Women, whose relatives had been killed in Zilan in 1930, ask, "Is there any diffirence between Zilan massacre and what happened in Roboski, Şırnak, Sur, Cizre, Gever and Nusaybin? Women said that the state is trying to bring into existence itself by killing Kurds.

15,000 Kurdish people had been killed in the Geliyê Zilan Valley located to the north of the town of Erciş in Van Province in 1930. Tens of villages had been evacuated, burned and pillaged. Geliyê Zilan women, grandchildren of the killed people, said that the state and state forces' pressure has going on in the region. Women stated that the soldiers often conduct the raid their villages and the soldiers have used bad language against them. One of these women Şahnaz Siyer said that the traces of massacre in Zilan haven't been removed yet and the people don't forget the Zilan Massacre.

Şahinaz told the Zilan Massacre that she heard from her grandparents with following words: "Our grandparents and relatives had been brought together by government officials, the purpose of visiting them. The state forces massacred women, children, elderly people and they burned our homes and our villages. They killed us and settled the Kirghiz people in our lands. You can see the bones of people in Altındere where Kirghiz people have lived."

Şahinaz emphasized that the state's pressure has continued in Geliyê Zilan and villages, "The soldiers often conduct raids on our villages and use bad language to us. They tell us, "We'll kill or arrest you." They are killing women, children and 35-day- old babies. Is there any diffirence between Zilan massacre and what happened in Roboski, Şırnak, Sur, Cizre, Gever and Nusaybin?" Şahinaz said that the Kurds must unite. It is impossible to live with a mindset that cannot stand with Kurdish people.

"One soldier came to our village and he told the villagers, "The commander came to visit you. He wants to see all of the villagers." All villagers, who lived in Geliyê Zilan, went to see the commander by wearing their most beautiful clothes.The soldiers took the villagers to a place called Adağeybi in Hasanabdal village. They executed the villagers by firing squad. The state does the same now. The meantality of Daesh is still going on." said another woman named Fatma Hezer.

Fatma, meanwhile, said that "We want to live in this country in peace. We'll ask for peace despite, we have been exposed to massacres. War is the thing of cowards. The peace is the thing of brave and courageous people."
