Hacer Vahidi (25) lost her leg when she stepped on a land mine in the countryside Iran’s Bane city where Kurdish people live. Hacer stepped on a land mine while she was collecting grass on Pîre Meran Mountain. Hacer lost her leg in the explosion. The people in the region reacted to the absence of warning signs or no signs in the region. The people said that tens of people have lost their life or one part of their body due to the absence of warning signs or no signs in the region.
The war between Iran and Iraq was ended 27 years ago. However, there are land mines at the border between Iran and Iraq. As the land mines threaten the life of the people in region, hundrends of people have lost their life and hundrends of people have been wounded or become permanently disabled. According to report of 2015, 51 people have lost their life in Iran due to explosion of land mines.
