Women’s answer to those who want to frighten them with armored vehicles

AMED – Armored vehiches, which goes around the besieged cities of Kurdistan under the name of “security”, have continued to claim the lives. “We’ll act more strength when they try to frighten us.” said women by stating that the special war strategy is being implemented in Kurdistan.

As massacre policies have imposed on the besieged Kurdistan, armored vehicles deployed all over the city have continued to cause danger. Two women have been wounded on April 26; in Hakkari due to an armored vehicle hit them. Meanwhile, Hatun Elhuman was killed on April 27; in Diyarbakır by an armored vehicle. Turkish state forces dispersed the labors in the celebration of May 1 with armored vehicles TOMA (Intervention Vehicle to Social Events), an armored vehicle TOMA crushed a citizen to death. The reaction to armored vehicles, whose numbers are more than the population, deployed in the cities is growing. Women pointed out that the armored vehicles are targeting the women. Women said that they check the roads if there is an armored vehicle, whenever, they try to pass across. One of these women Nupelda Yaşar, who emphasized that the special war strategy is being implemented in Kurdistan, said that they don’t feel safe in the street nor in life.

Nupelda stated that the clashes ongoing in Sur for four months aren’t only in Sur. The tanks and armored vehicles risk the people’s life by driving at full throttle in the cities. Nupelda emphasized that the tanks and armored vehicles deployed in the center of city disturb the people. “The mentality, which disturb with the voice of women, attacks with massacre and fear policies. Having armored vehiches everywhere isn’t a normal situation for a country. Armored vehicle accidents occurred repeatedly is a threat. Armored vehicles, which go around the city by violating the traffic rules, threaten the life. We’ll act more strength when they try to frighten us.”

Another woman Pervin Cengiz said, “The armored vehicles have been violating the rights of pedestrians.If there are armored vehicles in the city more than people, we cannot talk about the security. We don’t feel safe in our city as the people of the city.”

Songül Kapancı asked why there are many armored vehicles in the streets where there are many people. Songül said, “They attacked here under the name of war. There isn’t any war here now; however, there are armored vehicles everywhere of the city. Pull out their armored vehicles from our city.”
