AMED – Sur women carry on “Discussions Jineoloji workshop” under the leadership of Sur Women’s Academy every week. Women share their experiences and knowledge in the discussions.

Women carry on “Discussions Jineoloji workshop” in Diyarbakır Sur Women’s Academy every week. Women gather in workshop named “Meeting of women” every Friday. They share their experiences and knowledge with each other in the workshop. One of the women those who attend these discussions Ezgi Kaya indicated that women are satisfied with this meeting.

Ezgi said, “We had to make a break in the discussions of Jineoloji due to the events in Sur. We have begun to discuss again for two weeks. We make discussion with women those who live in Sur. We are conducting our discussion on the experiences in the past. Women who lived in the villages told us what pirebokun (witch) which had been told them in the past in the meeting last week. Each woman told us what they know about pirebokun and what they heard from parents or grandparents. Women share the diffirent informations to each other and they are happy to share them.”

Another woman Aslı Cengiz said they are conducting the discussions on topics in ancient history. Aslı said, “The people couldn’ go to hospitals in the past. The patients were treated with herbs and natural plants. We discussed which herb is good and how we must use them in the meeting last week. I can tell that we learn diffirent information every week.

“We want to show that the informations grow by sharing and the informations cannot be sold. Our goal is spreading these informations among women.”
