Clashes, resistance continue in Şırnak, Nusaybin

ŞIRNEX/MÊRDÎN – As resistance has continued against genocidal attacks in Şırnak and Nusaybin, state forces pillage the city under bombardment.

NUSAYBİN

Resistance self-government against genocidal attacks has entered in the 55th day in the Nusaybin district of Mardin. Violent clashes between Civil Defense Units YPS and state forces have continued nonstop. As the resistance has lasted in Abdulkadirpaşa, Zeynelabidin, Kışla, Fırat, Dicle and Yenişehir neighborhoods, state forces have have begun to pillage the town center where there isn’t clash.

All the workplaces in Kaçakçılar Çarşısı are being closed down and pillaged by state forces that are also breaking into some houses in the same area and plundering all the goods inside.

As the attacks have continued in the town, the YPS and YPS-JIN members have turned the attacks as well. An enhanced military deployment has been ongoing since early this morning.

ŞIRNAK

State forces’ genocidal attacks have entered in the 54th day in Şırnak. Heavy bombardment and clashes have continued nonstop in the city since last night. Artillery weapons stationed in Gümüştepe and Sîn û Ber region on Siirt road continued bombing all part of cityi particularly the neighborhoods of Bahçelievler, Cumhuriyet, Yeni and İsmetpaşa from last night until this morning. The bombardment left many houses on fire or demolished.

Simultaneously with the shelling, armored vehicles have also raked the neighborhoods amid heavy clashes between YPS/YPS-JIN and state forces trying to enter the three neighborhoods.

As neighborhoods were under heavy attacks throughout the night, clashes got heavier as of early morning hours. As no information has been obtained about the results of the clashes yet, many ambulances were dispatched to the area during the night and these were later seen heading towards 23rd Gendarmerie Border Division Command.

Activity of Turkish UAVs and helicopters has also intensified in and around the city since the night and these were seen the helicopters flew over the sountryside of the city and in the direction of Cizre.

Meanhile, special operations officer Engin Şara from Maroon Berets who had wounded during clashes in Şırnak several days ago, passed away while receiving treatment in military hospital GATA in Ankara.
