MÊRDÎN - Nusaybin mothers passed the Mother's Day by resisting against genocidal attacks and siege for 57 days. "They want to discipline us by killing our children. We don't care we passed Mother's Day under bombardment. We aren't more valuable than youths. This isn't a war of country, it is an invasion." said women by stating that the Mother's Day loses its meaning in a country like Turkey.
The 8th curfew has been imposed on the Nusaybin district of Mardin for 57 days. Mothers in Yüksekova, Şırnak and Nusaybin passed their Mother's Day under siege and bombardment. Mothers, whose children's dead bodies have remained in the streets or whose children are still resisting, said Mother's Day becomes meaningless for them. One of these mothers 55-year-old Halime said, "Without our children, this life is prison for us. There are tens of dead bodies in the streets and we cannot retrieve them from the streets. Even, we don't know who our child is. We don't want Mother's Day. If you cared about the mothers, you wouldn't have invented wars."
Halime expressed that the President Tayyip Erdoğan has fuelled the war and she said, "If there wasn't Erdoğan, this war wouldn't exist. Youth and children are killed due to his profits. Turkish mothers shouldn't send their children to this war. This isn't a war of country, it is an invasion. Our children don't come to your cities and they don't attack you. However, you send your children to kill us in our doorstep. Don't let your children to fall into sin."
60-year-old Hediye Acar resists against the war with her children. Hediye stated that each curfew is more difficult than before. Hediye reminded that they sometimes could retrieve the dead bodies by carrying white flags. "We cannot retrieve the dead bodies by carrying white flags now. They want to discipline us by killing our children. These days are being written in the history, the account will be asked some day. We don't care we passed Mother's Day under bombardment. We aren't more valuable than youths. Our grandchildren will ask the account of these days."
The President participated in a program and he cried while he was listening to a poem about mothers. Hediye stated the the President weeped crocodile tears. "If he appreciated to mothers a little bit, he didn't storm around. He shouldn't forget he bombs the mothers with male-made war every day, because we won't forget. We experienced the same in 1990s. However, the Kurds are not same; they will be called to account."
