ADANA - Women gathered in the Seyhan district of Adana on the occasion of the Mother's Day. Women pointed out the attacks on Kurdish people and said, "Our children lost their life for us and they sacrificed their life to make us happy. We'll follow our children's path, we'll continue our struggle."
Women from the Free Women's Congress (KJA), Peace Mothers and the Mesopotamia Association of Assistance and Solidarity for Families with Lost Relatives (MEYA-DER) held a press conference in the office of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) in the Seyhan district of Adana. The KJA member Emine Adıbelli spoke in behalf of women in the press conference. She said, "When our children went, they told us never cry after us. Our children turned the Kurdistan Mountains to heaven with roses; however, they watered these roses with their blood. The Mother's Day is meaningless for those who lost their children. Mothers just want to be with their children. Our children are shot and killed in the streets. Our children are sent to prisons or they have to fight on the mountains. Is there any meaning of this day when mothers feel sorrow?"
The Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Adana co-chair Suzan Kılıç, meanwhile, said, "Our children lost their life for us and they sacrificed their life to make us happy. We'll follow our children's path, we'll continue our struggle."
