Şırnak people those who had to leave their homes due to the policies imposed on Şırnak by the government have maintained their lives in the tents on highland around Şırnak. People plant vegetables in empty land to meet their vital needs. Şırnak women have tried to rebuild the collective life and grew the culture of solidarity by planting vegetables. Kevser Külter is one of these women. She said, "The government restricts our living space. But, we create the environtment to organize on our lands anyway."

Kevser, who doesn't leave her the land of birth, put up a tent near Şırnak and she continues to live with her family there. Kevser said, "As women, we plant vegetables in the empty land due to no one can work. We'll meet our vegetables needs in this way. We work together and we are in solidarity with each other. The government tried to get us out of Şırnak; however, we haven't been deceived by the government. Kurds can rebuild their lives again in every difficulty. We have never surrendered to the enemy. We'll never leave our land."

Another woman, who plant vegetables on highland is Ayşe Katar. Ayşe hasn't left her land like Kevser and other Şırnak women. Ayşe said, "They try to send us to other cities. They employ Kurds with low-paid in the West. This is a game of the government against the Kurds. So, we don't leave our land. These crops are sufficient for us. We come to field every morning. We plant vegetables together. We rebuild our collective life again."
