ÊLIH - Women have formed a working group in Hevi Hope Women's Workshop of Batman Municipality and they have formed their communal economy by working in a collective manner.

Batman Municipality Hevi Hope Women's Workshop has formed workshops in various areas for women for five years. The workshops have been planned according to women's economic needs. Women those who work in workshop located in Petrolkent neighborhood of Batman are taking the orders from abroad, too.

Hevi Hope Women's Workshop Coordinator Gurbet Nas said, "We have a group with five women. This group has performed works for one year. All these women joined to this goup with great hope and expectation. We have tried to upskill to women when we have conducted all of these works. We gather the women to provide social production and social economy by working together in solidarity. Finally, these women become hope for Hevi and Hevi becomes hope for these women."

Fikriye Oğuz, who works in group of Hevi Hope Women's Workshop, said, "We work and earn together. We sew women's clothes and we make ornaments and jewelries. We sell our hand labors and divide income into five. This workshop is a great support for us."

Nurşen Balık is another woman in the group and she said, "Women can do everything if they work together and support each other. My confidence and courage have increased since I began to work here. We didn't have any possibility to open a workshop by ourselves, but the Municipality supports us. We don't pay rent and the bills of electricity and water. Each day is better then other day."
