EFRÎN - Hêlin Ebdo, who had to leave the Sheikh Maqsood neighborhood of Aleppo to Efrîn due to ongoing attacks of gangs' members, is working in a sewing workshop with her mother in Efrîn. Hêlin said that she want to be a strong and productive woman.
On the one hand, women have resisted in the trenches of war due to the attacks of Daesh gangs, on the other hand, they have built new life. Women have developed communal economy for new life by setting up workshops. 15-year-old Hêlin Ebdo is working in a workshop in Efrîn. Her duty is iron the closhes sewed by other women. Hêlin lived in the Kîmar village of Aleppo's Şêrewa district and she had to leave her village with her family and move to Efrîn Canton due to the intense attacks of gangs' members.
Hêlin gave us some information about their work. "Women make a great effort in their life. Work always comes to mind when we use the word of woman. Women make everything out of nothing. I wanted to be one of precious and productive women. My mother also works in this sewing workshop. I am happy with my work. I iron 35 pieces in two hours.
"Before, the people said that women couldn't do all the works. However, women always explode this discourse. Particularly, Kurdish women give very good answer to this discourse. Women reveal that a society without women and women's struggle cannot exist. I believe that all women will reveal their secret powers and they will use them for the benefit of society."
