ŞIRNEX - Şırnak women have resisted against the displacement policies of the state for years. "The state demolished our homes, but we'll set up tents on the same place." said Şırnak women.

Hundrends of families have put tents in the districts and areas around Şırnak due to "curfew" declared in the town. Six houses from the same family set up their tents in the Şenoba located in Şırnak's Uludere district and they have tried to maintain their life despite the difficulties. The women those who live in the tents stated that they will never leave their lands and they pointed out that no ones care about the ongoing clashes in Şırnak. Women said, "Turn your face to Şırnak to avoid another Cizre's massacre. We should stop the massacre."

Vetha Külter stated that they had to leave Şırnak due to the ban. "We'll return our homes whatever they do. We'll leave these tents in the ruins. We won't leave our lands. This cruel state demolished our homes; it forced us to be displaced. We have become miserable. These children live in the tents. Whay did we do to them? The fascist came and demolished and burned our homes.

"Our children have become miserable in these streets for two months. That's enough. Maintain peace in this country. They bomb our homes every day. We hear the sound of bombs. However, I couldn't do anything. What does the state want from us? They had used tear gas in our neighborhood before the ban. No one can stand in the tear gas. Pregnant women fainted and they were poisoned. I couldn't go out from our homes. They are bombing our homes now.

"If they allow us, we'll sut up tents on the land where our homes were. We'll resist even if they force us to be displaced or they kill our children. These lands are ours and our country. We won't leave our lands even if we have to live in the tents."

Hanım Bilen is another woman, who had to leave her home due to ongoing curfew in Şırnak. Hanım said, "We had gathered walnuts and sumac in our village. We were happy there. However, our happiness didn't last long. Turkish state had come and they burned our forest and garden. They burned the animals of the villagers and banned the region.

"The youths in Şırnak are our children. The Kurds cannot proceed without being together. We say that we want peace and fraternity, however, the state says "war". They have razed Şırnak to the ground. There's nothing left from Şırnak."
