Violent clashes in Şırnak & Nusaybin

MÊRDİN/ŞIRNEX - As resistance against genocidal attacks has maintained in Şırnak and Nusaybin, violent clashes and bombardment have continued.

Self-government resistance against the state's genocidal attacks has entered in the 65th day in Şırnak. Clashes and bombardment have continued in the city. Houses were targeted one by one in the bombing on Yeni and Bahçelievler neighborhoods that started at the evening hours. As smoke rose from several houses, which were struck by howitzer fire, many houses have been demolished in the howitzer attacks.

Violent clashes broke out in the Yeni, Bahçelievler, Cumhuriyet and Aydınlıkevler neighborhoods with the bombardment. The neighborhoods have been raked by armored vehicles.

Occasional clashes continued through the night in the Yeni neighborhood. The clashes have focused on Cumhuriyet and Bahçelievler neighborhoods with the bombardment since morning. Meanwhile, the neighborhoods have been raked with artillery fired from the armored vehicles deployed around the neighborhoods.

More than 10 ambulances shuttled back and forth between the clash zones, Şırnak State Hospital and 23rd Gendarmerie Border Command.

UAV activity has continued in the urban and rural areas of the city and dozens of armored vehicles were dispatched in the night.

State forces have continued to blast racist anthems from the armored vehicles.

Resistance enters in the 66th day in Nusaybin

24-hour curfew declared on March 14 in the Nusaybin district of Mardin has left 66 days behind. Even though more than 100 members of the Turkish Gendarmerie Special Operation (JÖH) and Police Special Operations (PÖH) have lost their life in the ongoing violent clashes since the first day of the curfew, state forces cannot enter any of hte neighborhoods. The attacks have become heavier after 16 members of JÖH/PÖH were seriously wounded last night. Yenişehir, Dicle, Fırat and Abdulkadirpaşa neighborhoods were surrounded by dozens of armored vehicles and came under a heavy bombardment.

As the neighborhoods of self-government were also targeted by howitzer and mortar fire from armored vehicles deployed around old hospital and İpek Yolu (Silk Road), close clashes erupted in Çağçağ, Şirin and Kanarya streets continued until the early hours of the morning.
