JINHA

ŞIRNEX – Unable to break the resistance of the YPS-YPS-JIN for 66 days in Şırnak, state forces have destroyed the city upon Erdoğan’s orders. State forces use all kinds of weapons to destroy the city. Images of the destruction document the state’s war crimes.

The state’s genocidal attacks against the demand of people’s demand of self-government began on March 14 in Şırnak. The city has been under heavy attacks since then. State forces those who cannot break the resistance of the YPS/YPS-JIN, have demolished the city with artillery and explosives. State forces members, who are targeting the city’s historical sites and faith centers, have systematically destroyed the city.

Destruction began upon Erdoğan’s orders

President Tayyip Erdoğan gave an order during a 23rd meeting with mukhtars on April 6. He suggested that “buildings could be destroyed from a distance”. State forces have begun to destroy the houses and stores after this order.

City brought down in ruins step by step

Şırnak has 12 neighborhoods. State forces have shelled nonstop the neighborhood with tanks, bombs and howitzer. The majority of buildings in Dicle, Cumhuriyet, İsmetpaşa, Gazipaşa, Yeşilyurt, Yeni and Bahçelievler neighborhoods have been brought down in ruins.

People forced to leave their houses

Hundreds of houses in Aydınlıkevler, Tekser, Vakıfkent, Gündoğlu and Şehr-i Nuh (Ömerköy) neighborhoods have been made unusable. Meanwhile, high buildings in these neighborhoods have been used as sniper bases and civilians have been forced to leave their houses and city by saying “The operation is extended”.

Images refute the state media’s claims

Meanwhile, the state media members are brought to the city upon the greatest destruction in city. The state media is trying to spread the propaganda by reporting that explosive traps set up by YPS members destroy the houses. Despite this campaign, the truth reveals itself and images from different parts of the city point at state forces. The destruction of state forces that target historical and religious sites and commit war crimes is documented already with the images.
