She resists against embargo by planting vegetables in her garden

EFRÎN - Esmet Seîd who is from Şêxmeqsûd and had to migrate to Efrîn Canton due to ongoing gangs' attacks, is resisting against the embargo of gangs now. She meets her daily needs from planted vegetable in her garden and she said that women and nature aren't different with each other.

Many citizens from Şêxmeqsûd neighborhood of Aleppo had to migrate to districts of Efrîn Canton due to ongoing gangs' attacks on the neighborhood. However, Şêxmeqsûd people have faced the embargo of gangs in Efrîn. The people are resisting against the embargo with natural products. One of these people 50-year-old Esmet Seîd stated that, "We came to Efrîn from Şêxmeqsûd. We had lived in peace in our neighborhood; however, gangs began to attacks our neighborhood everyday. And, they organize these attacks with support of the AKP. Their aim is to break the resistance of the Kurds and displace them. But, we don't go anywhere, we are resisting in our lands. The AKP and gangs won't reach their goals."

Esmet planted vegetables in her garden and she said, "We meet our food needs from vegetables which we planted in our gardens and fields. We always have alternative. As women, we are resisting against embargo and we are developing communal economy. Meanwhile, we base on the ecological life. We plant vegetables and greens. Efrîn people are dedicated to the land and they live with nature. We resist with Efrîn people against the embargo of gangs.

"Women must be free. We must develop communal economy against male-dominated mentality. We will be very strong if we are in unity. When we become stronger, no power can stand in front of us."
