ŞIRNEX - Fire broke out on Cudi Mountain as a result of the bombardment. As thousands of acres of forestland have turned into ashes, the wind causes the fire to spread large areas.

State forces bombed rural areas of the Şax and Hevler villages on Cudi Mountain on May 16. Fire broke out on Cudi Mountain as result of the bombardment. The fire has continued to grow. According to reports received, thousands of acres of forestland have turned into ashes; the citizens aren't allowed to respond to the fire for "security" reasons.

The smoke rising from the Cudi Mountain, can be seen from Şırnak's Silopi and Cizre districts. The wind causes the fire to spread towards the Hesana area and inner side of the mountain.
