DERSİM- Women those who had to leave their villages due to pressure and economic reasons resisted against the life imposed in the cities for years. Women have begun to return their villages. They live their old days and they produce natural products.

The life in Dersim's villages has another beauty with many different kinds of flowers, mountain goats, deers and Munzur which carries the high mountains and forests in its heart. The pressure has been imposed since 1938. The people had had to leave their villages and moved to big cities. Some of them had gone to European countries while some had gone to big cities in Turkey. They had to live with the aspirations of their villages for years. The people have begun to return their villages against the modernity. The people produce natural products and meet their own needs with these products.

Melek Tugay, who lives in the Kocakoç village of Dersim's Nazimiye district, doesn't approve the life imposed by the capitalist system. Melek stated that she had to live in city for 22 years and she said, "I couldn't keep living in that life. I returned to my village and I plant vegetables and I live in a natural life. I set up a small shop in fron of my home and I sell the vegetables. I meet my economic needs in this way."

Melek told us that she had to move from her village to Dersim due to economic reasons and she worked there for a while. Melek said, "The life in the city was difficult. I couldn't keep living there. I returned to my village after my children grew up. I have lived in my village for six years. I stayed in the city for 22 years. I missed my village all time.

"The village life is natural. We cannot find this naturality in cities. I plant vegetables in the land in front of my home. I have also fruit trees, chickens and bees. I eat natural products here. I'm very happy and peaceful here. I am also producer. I produce cottage cheese, jam with the fruits in my garden. I don't eat genetically modified organism products. I feel like born again in the village."
