ÇÊWLÎG - Bingöl women fight against the mindset of male-dominant that closes them in home. They ignore "Women don't work" mentality and they say, "We believe that we can change the society."

Female textile workers stated that the textile business isn't restricted to only men and they have reflected to the society that women also can do this job, too. Şehriban Alaş is one of these women. She said that she began to work in a textile factory in Bingöl and added, "I have noticed that the perspective of people on me has begun to change while I have continued to work. I believe that women can change the society." Women those who live in Bingöl have tried hard to break the mindset of male-dominant. They have displayed a women's resistance in textile factory with low wages and inflexible working hours. Women pointed out the importance of going out from the home and working despite the pressure. Women said, "We have an important role in the life. The society cannot change suddenly; however, we have to make an effort to change the society. We must break the prejudice."

Şehriban Alaş said that she just started working in the textile factory and she faced to pressure and the people told her, "Women cannot work, why does your family allow you to work?" when she began to work. Şehriban pointed out that she has continued to work by ignoring all words. Şehirban said, "I have gained self-confidence since I began to work. I manage to stand on my own legs. The most beautiful feeling is receiving a recompense for your work. The most important thing is the perspective of people on me has begun to change while I have continued to work."

Özlem Bayırtmış is another woman, who just started working in the textile factory. Özlem said, "If you are a woman and you are also a working woman, the people regard you as strange. However, I feel that I manage to do something when I started working."

Zozan Tekin, meanwhile, has worked in the textile factory for four years. She said that their work is difficult, but it can be learned in the time. Zozan said, "There are good and difficult parts of our work. We pass almost all our day by standing up, however, I understand that all difficulties can be overcome if you want."
