Streets turn into schools in Kobanê with children's excitement

KOBANÊ - Seven-year-old Culida Omer has given lesson to the children at her age by carrying her excitement of learning Kurdish language to the streets of Kobanê.

Kobanê people those who had to emigrate due to the attacks of Daesh gangs, have begun to return their lands and build new life after their struggle against Daesh. Education in the native language is one of the most important issues in the building of new life. The language of education was Arabic in Kobanê for years. The children those who have begun to take education in Kurdish language, have carried their excitement of native language to the streets. The children have shown great interest in reading and writing in Kurdish. They have turned the streets into schools and given Kurdish lesson to their friends.

Small teacher…

Seven-year-old Culiya Omer is a child but a teacher. She has given Kurdish lesson to her friends those who gather in groups. We asked to small teacher Culida, why is she giving lesson? She replied, "I teach the children what I learned in school in order to they don't have difficulty when they begin the school."
