'Why do you keep silent when we fight for our life?'

ŞIRNEX - Şükriye Edin described the struggle of Kurdish people with a sentence; "Our struggle is the struggle for life". "We'll resist to the end." said Şükriye while she was looking to the city where smoke rises. She also criticized the silence against the assault on the city.
Kurdish women those who haven't left their lands against genocidal attacks and displacement policies, have exhibited an epic resistance. One of these women is Şükriye Edin from Şırnak. Şükriye said, "We are living out of suitcases. We go to another place every day. What shall we do? Şükriye first had been forced to leave her home when she lived in the Raman village of Şırnak. Şükran's family was forced to leave their once more again with the siege imposed on Şırnak. They didn't want to leave their lands and they are living in the tent city built by the people just out of Şırnak. Şükran is sure that their home was demolished. She stated that she won't leave their lands under no circumstances. Many of her family members are taking part in the resistance of the city.
Şükriye said, "The state had forced us to leave our village. Who wants to leave their lands? No ones want to go to other people's streets and places. Everyone wants to have a life and move freely. Our life passes by migrating from one place to other." Şükriye stated that they have experienced many thing and they are too exhausted to tell their story. She said that they had to leave their home with the last siege and they are watching their home to be demolished every day.
Şükriye showed us the smoke rose from the city and she said, "Today is a calm day. They bomb the city everyday, the bombardment is so violent. Sometimes, we think the tents will fall down due to the bombardment. What can we say more? We will resist to the end."
Şükran criticized the silence against the ongoing attacks in Şırnak. Şükriye said, "Everyone should ask what is going on in this city. A city is completely destroyed; however, everyone keep silent. The struggle of Kurdish people is the struggle for life."
