ISTANBUL - Two activists from the Federation of Socialist Youth Associations (SGDF) hanged a banned reads as "Justice for Suruç and Everyone" on the building of Simit Sarayı in Istanbul's Kadıköy district. Two reporters of the Etkin News Agency (ETHA) named Pınar Gayıp and Rıdvan Coşkun were detained while covering the protest.

Two activists from the Federation of Socialist Youth Associations (SGDF) hanged a banned reads as "Justice for Suruç and Everyone" on the building of Simit Sarayı in Istanbul's Kadıköy district. Two activists named Onur Demir and Onur Alpşar shouted slogans such as "We don't let Suruç be forgot" and "We'll ask the account of Suruç" after they hanged the banned. Two activists were detained during the protest by police.

Two reporters of the Etkin News Agency (ETHA) named Pınar Gayıp and Rıdvan Coşkun, who wanted to take photos of protest, were also detained.

What happened in Suruç?

A bomb attack took place in the Suruç district of Şanlıurfa on July 20, 2015. 33 people were killed in the attacks. Most victims were members of the Socialist Party of the Oppressed (ESP) Youth Wing and the Socialist Youth Associations Federation (SGDF).
