JINHA: We dedicate this award to the women who killed in the areas of self-government

ANKARA - Women's News Agecny (JINHA) has been granted the sixth of İLEF Evrim Alataş Award against Discrimination. Our reporter Duygu Erol received the award in behalf of our agency. Duygu said, "We dedicate this award to the women, who were killed and whose bodies were exhibited in the areas of resistance for self-government in the person of Sêvê Demir, Pakize Nayır and Fatma Uyar.

The Faculty of Communication of Ankara University (İLEF) has given an award named İLEF Evrim Alataş Award against Discrimination as a part of their lesson called Courses against Discrimination since 2007. The sixth of this award has been given to our agency Women's News Agency (JINHA). The award ceremony was began with journalist Evrim's words; "We defend life against death, peace aganst war". Evrim's life and her works were showed with a cinevision presentation with the song named "Dayê-Rojek Tê".

Our reporters Mizgin Tabu and Duygu Erol received the award in behalf of our agency. Duygu said in the award ceremony that, "Evrim Alataş tried to write the truth, the life of Kurdish people and Kurdish women in 1990s. Now, we are in 2016. We have undergone a process in which women's bodies have been exhibited. As JINHA, we are trying to write these difficult times and we'll continue to write. We dedicate this award to the women, who were killed and whose bodies were exhibited in the areas of resistance for self-government in the person of Sêvê Demir, Pakize Nayır and Fatma Uyar.

After the speech of Duygu, our reporter Mizgin Tabu began to speak. She said, "We began to step in the world of press with the slogan; "And we are changing the language of the media. The world media will never be the same after us". Our agency was founded with seven women, now hundrends of women are with us. Gurbeteli Ersöz, Ayfer Serçe and Deniz Fırat are the guides for us. We took over their struggle. We are their consecutives. Many of our friends have been detained, jailed and our website has been blockaded. We don't give up our struggle and we'll continue our struggle.
