DIRBÊSIYÊ - Civilians women have organized under Women's Self-defence Forces (HPC-JIN) against Daesh gangs. The participation of women to the HPC-JIN is increasing day by day.

HPC-JIN Dirbêsîyê Responsible Henîfe Ehmed stated that as women, they protect their cities and villages and added, "We'll protect our lands, women and people under the leadership of the HPC-JIN. We are intent on protect ourselves."

Women have organized themselves in every field from rebuilding their cities to self-defense along with Rojava Revolution. Women of all ages have taken their part in the HPC-JIN to fight against Daesh gangs. As the participation of women to the HPC-JIN is increasing day by day, HPC-JIN Dirbêsîyê Responsible Henîfe Ehmed gave information about their work. Henîfe noted that women need a distinctive organization she said that they founded the HPC-JIN in this direction in the behalf of Jiyan Dirbêsîyê, who died when she fought against Daesh gangs in the Dirbêsîyê city of Cizîr Canton. Henîfe said, "We declared our organization on May 4. We open our office everyday at 8:00 a.m. and we keep our guard regularly. 26 women from all ages have served in our organization."

Henîfe stated that the women from the HPC-JIN not only get military and defense training; they also have native language and ideology education. She said, "We have native language education one hour a day. Our ideology education concentrates on the history of women and today's women's mission. We protect our city and villages by keeping guard in the evening. We also take our part among the people during a march or rally."

Henîfe stated that they fight against violence, harassment and rape and said, "The protection of women is important for us. We have solved the problems of 20 women until now. People thought that protection of lands and people was men's job; however, we changed this perception by founding the HPC-JIN. We will protect our lands, women and people under the leadership of the HPC-JIN. We are intent on protect ourselves."
