She sets up tent in her garden against displacement policies

COLEMÊRG - The people have begun to rebuild Gever after the lifting of 24-hour curfew. Many families have become homeless due to state forces' attacks. Sarya Yaşar set up a tent in the garden of her home with her family and said, "We'll stay in our lands even if we have to live in tent."

As the people have already begun to rebuild their demolished and burned houses after the lifting of 24-hour curfew in the Hakkari's Gever (Yüksekova) district, many houses have made unusable. The people those who cannot live ruined houses, set up tents in the gardens of their houses alternatively. Sarya Yaşar is one of these people. Sarya found her home as demolished and burned when she returned to the district after curfew. However, she set up a tent in the garden of house and she lives with her family in this tent.

Sarya stated that she found her all household goods as burned; however, she didn't want to leave her lands even if they didn't have a home anymore. She said, "We had left our home with extremity. We didn't find anything left from our home when we returned. We set up a tent in our home's garden with our children in order to not leave Gever. We won't leave our lands despite all difficulties."

Sarya has continued to live in a tent with her husband and eight children.
