ADANA - Çilem Doğan killed her husband Hasan Karabulut, who repeatedly beat her and tried to force her into prostitution, by appling her self-defense. The verdict hearing of the case will be hed today. Adana Women's Platform made a statement to the press in front of Adana Courthouse. The statement reads; "We don't leave Çilem, who protected herself by appling her self-defense, alone with the motto "As women, we ask freedom for Çilem Doğan.""

The verdict hearing of Çilem Doğan, who had to kill her husband Hasan Karabulut, who repeatedly beat her and tried to force her into prostitution, by appling her self-defense, will be held today. Adana Women's Platform members gathered in front of Adana Courthouse before the trial. The Platform made a statement to the press. Women unfurled a banner reads, "As women, we ask freedom for Çilem Doğan.". Women also shouted slogans such as, "We are women not family", "Not men's justice, real justice" and "Freedom for Çilem Doğan". Many women from women's organizations from neighboring provinces came to Adana and attended to the statement. Derya Çiçeknar from Adana Women's Platform made the statement. Derya said, "The verdict hearing of Çilem Doğan who is tried for apply her self-defense in order to protect herself, will be held today. We don't leave Çilem alone and ask freedom for her."
