'We must prove that the humanity is still alive'

AMED - Women, who have taken their place to carry out the works in solidarity of the people in Yüksekova, Nusaybin and Sur, have packaged the aid materials in the warehouse. Education and Science Workers' Union (Eğitim Sen) member Arîn Zümrüt called upon all people by saying, "We will be sorry if we don't support each other now. We must prove that the humanity is still alive."
The campaigns, which have begun under the leadership of the Rojava Aid and Solidarity Association, has continued for the besieged cities and districts which have been burned and demolished. Women have shown great interest in the campaigns which have continued with great dedication of volunteers. The aid materials have been brought to a warehouse in Sümerpark within the scope of the campaigns in Diyarbakır. The volunteers have packaged the materials in this warehouse and sent to Sur, Yüksekova, Nusaybin and other centers. Pasta, flour, oil, rice, sugar, tomato paste, bulgur wheat and other materials are being prepared for the families by putting them in the bags in the warehouse.
Women those who come to warehouse almost everyday as volunteers, stated that the thing they do there is a humanitarian responsibility and said that everyone must be in solidarity with the people. Education and Science Workers' Union (Eğitim Sen) member Arîn Zümrüt said, "We don't want only financial support. If you don't have anything to support, you can share your love with people. We should lend our helping hands to these people."
Arîn stated that they come to warehouse after school to package the materials and she said, "We must do everything for humanity. We are passing in difficult times and we are suffering heavy losses. We cannot be mere spectators while the people in Gever, Nusaybin and Sur become homeless. 3-6 families live together to not stay in the streets. They lost everything. Their loss isn't onşy financial but also intangible. We must do our best for them. Everyone can come here to help whenever they have free time. We will be sorry if we don't support each other now. We must prove that the humanity is still alive."
