ŞIRNEX - The Free Women's Congress (KJA) member Şehriban Altunışık was one of resistants against the state's attacks with artillery by not leaving Şırnak. She showed everyone that the hope is stronger than guns and tanks. In the last text Şehriban, she wrote that, "We don't leave our city which is a part of the resistance from neighborhoods to streets with the spirits we get from the power of our resistance. We will be perpetuators of the heritage of our comrades like Sêvê, Fatma and Pakize."

The state's genocidal attacks have continued in Şırnak for 94 days. The people those who didn't leave their city, homes and neighborhoods became the target of the attacks. As many unidentified bodies have been held in Şırnak State Hospital and Habur Forensic Medicine Institute (ATK), nearly 30 bodies, including civilians, were buried by state forces.
One of killed people is the Free Women's Congress (KJA) member Şehriban Altunışık who didn't leave the city. Şehirban pioneered for women in the city despite her young age. Şehriban said "We walk to freedom by building self-government from Ekin to Sêvê." in an interview for the March 8.

Şehriban, who was one of the people those who organized the resistance in the neighborhoods, sent a message for the March 8. She wrote, "We will bring out the women to areas in every field. We will welcome March 8 with seminars, panels, theaters and film screening in the center of Şırnak and villages. We will explain women the meaning and importance of March 8."

Şehriban said, "The leadership of women in resistance of Botan was tried to break and women were targeted. We don't fear whatever they do. Women will be the leader of this process and women will win. This process is very important for us. Therefore, we will do our best under the leadership of the KJA."
Şehriban urged through JINHA in behalf of women those who were in the resistance areas after the attacks had been began in Şırnak. She said, "We continued to resist despite the sadistic attacks of palace' gangs. We don't leave our city which is a part of the resistance from neighborhoods to streets with the spirits we get from the power of our resistance.

"Tayyip Erdoğan wants to annihilate Kurds and take them under his control. He thinks that he annihilates the Kurds in Sur, Cizre and Silopi. He attacks the other cities and towns. Erdoğan knows very well that we are the winner and he is loser. He tries to break the will of people here by sending soldiers, police and village guards. For years, these people haven't accepted surrender and they won't.

"My call to all women, young people and everyone who has conscience is; don't keep silent against these ongoing massacres. Each silence means a new massacre. If we don't want to experience a new massacre, we should embrace the self-government resistance. Day is the day of struggle and resistance."
