ISTANBUL - Prof. Dr. Şebnem Korur Fincancı, writer Ahmet Nesin, and journalist Erol Önderoğlu have been sent to jail for participating in the watch of "Editorship-in-Chief'.

Journalists, writers and intellectuals launched the "Editorship-in-Chief on Watch" campaign for Özgür Gündem Daily to show solidarity against oppressions and investigations. TİHV President Prof. Dr. Şebnem Korur Fincancı, writer Ahmet Nesin, and journalist Erol Önderoğlu had referred to the court with demand for their arrest early today. They had given statements in Istanbul Courthouse as part of an investigation on accusations of "organization propaganda".

Şebnem, Erol and Ahmet have been sent to jail on charges of "organization propaganda".
