"Editorship-in-Chief on Watch" campaign launched for Özgür Gündem daily to show solidarity against oppressions and investigations. Journalist Can Dündar has taken over the watch on the 50th day of the campaign. Can Dündar spoke before the meeting of the daily. Can Dündar said, "The arrest yesterday was a message. The message was that if you stay by the truth, you will be arrested. I got the message and we came to stay by them. Today is the day to do what they say don't. We'll take this struggle forward." Can said that the all arrested people are precious people. Can said, "We can handle the ongoing stuation by standing side by side. Each professional group must protect their colleagues. The headline of daily is so true. We should be in solidarity out of obstinacy. We congratulate them for their struggle. We'll continue to support them." After the speech of Can Dündar, one of editors of the daily Zana Kaya began to speak. Zana said, "We have suffered these oppressions many times. Everyone knows the places of the people those who imposed the oppressions in the history. We'll overcome these oppressions with solidarity."

Journalists will say they are ready to be editor-in-chiefs by gathering in the building of the daily at 11:00 a.m. in solidarity with the daily. Many organizations, trade unions and parties will gather in front of the daily building at 1:30 p.m. to condemn the arrests.
