MÊRDÎN - Dicle News Agency (DİHA) reporters Meltem Oktay and Uğur Akgül had been detained in Nusaybin. Uğur was released pending his trial while Meltem was sent to jail. The trial of both reporters will be held tomorrow.

State forces conducted raid on the home of Dicle News Agency (DİHA) reporters Meltem Oktay and Uğur Akgül and they detained them on April 11 in the Nusaybin district of Mardin. Uğur was released pending his trial while Meltem was sent to Mardin E Type Closed Prison. The trial of reporters will be held in Mardin tomorrow.

Meltem has been accused of "being a member of a terrorist organization" and "making terrorism propaganda" while Uğur has been accused of "making terrorism propaganda" for his shares on his Facebook and Twitter account.

Human Right Association (İHD) Mardin Branch President and lawyer Erdal Kuzu said, "The allegations against both of reporters are unfounded. Two journalists have been sued for being journalists of the Dicle News Agency."

The trial of Meltem and Uğur will be held in Mardin tomorrow.
