Şırnak children resist for 102 days

ŞIRNEX - Şırnak children had been forced to leave their living space where ban has been imposed. Even if they rebuilt their life in villages and towns, they say, "We miss Şırnak" in every sentence. As many children were displaced in 1990s, new generation also faced the same destiny with their parents. Şırnak children are resisting each period.
Official genocidal attacks have carried out in the center of Şırnak in order to break the resistance in the city. Today is the 102nd day of genocidal attacks. As the Women's Civil Defense Forces (YPS-JIN) and Civil Defense Forces (YPS) members have continued to light the fire of resistance in the Yenimahalle, Bahçelievler, Gazipaşa, İsmetpaşa, Dicle, Cumhuriyet and Yeşilyurt neighborhoods of Şırnak, Şırnak people are resisting with the spirit of collective life out of the city. The people from 7 to 70 take their parts in the resistance. The hope of resistance children turn everywhere into living space with the heritage took over the heritage of their big sisters and brothers in 1990s.
As seven neighborhoods of 12 neighborhoods of Şırnak have been burned and demolished, playgrounds, streets and the world of thousands of children those who were forced to leave Şırnak, have been brought down in ruins. Displaced families of Şırnak have maintained their life in tents that they set up in Awqamasya, Cîfanê, Konutlar, Kumçatı, Bilmat, Nerex, Balveren and Uludereye.
Particularly the citizens those who live in the tents in Awqamasya and Konutlar (Houses) have watched their city has been burned and demolished with tanks and howitzer for 102 days and they have listened the rising cries of their memories under the ruins. The children are the most affected from this situation. When we ask them some questions about their life in the tents, they say that they are happy and they have a good time there; however, one of their two sentences is "I miss Şırnak". They say, "I found new friends here but I miss my home. I like swimming in this village but I miss my friends, big sisters and brothers. Yes, I pass a good time here but I miss the lands of my mother."
Some of children use the clotheshorses to play volleyball while other spends the nights by listening to the tale of their grandmothers in the village without electricity.
Children have watched their memories and playgrounds in Şırnak have been demolished from far away. The children displaced in 1990s are resisting, new generations are also resisting. Şırnak children are resisting…
