ISTANBUL- Prof. Dr. Şebnem Korur Fincancı was arrested and sent to Bakırköy Women's Closed Prison for taking part in the editor-in-chief campaign in solidarity with Özgür Gündem daily. She has been taken to a ward from cell where she was held alone.

The President of Human Rights Foundation of Turkey (HRFT) Prof. Dr. Şebnem Korur Fincancı is one out of three people, who have been jailed for taking part in the editor-in-chief campaign in solidarity with Özgür Gündem daily. She was held in a cell alone. She was taken from the cell to a ward.

Lawyer of Şebnem, Meriç Eyüboğlu, and the deputy chairman of the Republican People's Party (CHP) Veli Ağbaba reported that Şebnem was taken from the isolation to a ward she demanded.
