AMED - Free Journalists Association (ÖGC) has released its report about journalist rights violations in last six months. According to the report, 10 journalists were killed and 24 journalists were jailed and 42 journalists were subjected to violence and torture in last six months.

Free Journalists Association (ÖGC) prepared a report about pressure on employees of free press in last six months. It is emphasized in the report that journalists were killed and jailed more in the last six months.

The report reads;

*Five journalists were killed in Turkey while five in Syria. Totally 10 journalists were killed in the last six months.

*102 journalists were taken into custody during this process. 24 of them were jailed. 12 jailed journalists are reporters of Dicle News Agency (DİHA).

* Five journalists, who reported in war zone, were tortured during the detention. Meanwhile, six journalists were beaten and 12 journalists were threatened.

* 19 journalists were stopped arbitrarily while covering news. 19 journalists were attacked. State forces conducted raids on six media outlet. Six journalists were detained.

*As prosecutions were started against 190 journalists and press organs, cases were filed against 60 of 190 journalists and media organizations. 26 journalists and media organizations were fined. 61 books were decided to recall. 53 of them belong to Aram Publications.

*Broadcating of 11 media organizations has been darkened and accessing of their websites has been blocked. Dicle News Agency (DİHA) website has been blocked 42nd times, JINHA website has been blocked 5th times and Azadiya Welat website has been blocked 6th times until now.

* Prosecution has started against 149 journalists from "counterterrorism" and against 27 journalists for "instulting" until now.
