ÊLIH – As the state is preparing to appoint trustees to the municipalities held by the the Democratic Regional Party (DBP), the people state that they will not allow them to seize their municipalities and they will protect their will by reacting to this decision.

Reaction to the discussion about the appointment of trustee to the municipalities held by the the Democratic Regional Party (DBP) are increasing day by day. Batman women noted that they will never recognize the appointed trustees that deny the people’s will. One of these women is Münzile Bulut. She stated that they will never quit their municipalities and said, “We will protect our case, party and municipalities as long as we are alive. We get our municipalitied with our votes and we won2t let them to take them from us. Kurdish people took these municipalities by paying the price. We won’t let them to seize our will.”

Another Batman woman Şerine Topal, meanwhile, said, “We will never give them our municipalities, and we will protect them. The municipalities are ours and they will stay like that. The people, who don’t recognize our will, cannot serve us. We already elected the people who govern us; we won’t recognize the people sent from another place. All Batman people should protect their municipality by organizing.”

“We are satisfied with municipality. No one can take our municipality from us. They seize our right and willpower by appointing trustees to the municipalities. Kurds are also a people, too. We have our language, culture, willpower and identity. They cannot silence us by imposing pressure, arresting us and seizing our municipalities.” said Fatma Yılmaz, another Batman woman. She stated that they will support their municipality and she said, “We recognize trustees and we won’t accept them.”
