ŞIRNEX – As Şırnak children have become the joy of feast in the resistance tents, their only wish is to take the candies from their big brother Hurşit. Cheerful chidren of the resistance tents said, “Find our big brothet Hurşit, he is our friend, we want to take the candies from him.”

Displaced Şırnak people have settled in towns around Şırnak by not leaving their lands against the state’s genocidal operations. They passed their Ramadan Feast in the tents. And children brought joy to the resistance tents again. The children, who collected candies from a tent to another, were looking for their big brother Hurşit.

Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Şırnak executive Hurşit Külter was detained by state forces; however no news has been received from him since then. Children, who demand to find Hurşit, said that; “We are celebrating the feast; however, our big brother Hurşit isn’t here this feast. We want to kiss his hand and take the candies from him like before.”

Şırnak children, who passed the feast under bombardment, don’t forget their big brothers and sisters. 10-year-old Nesrin Külter passed the feast with bittersweet happiness she said, “I woke up in the early hours and I put on my dress. However, I felt something strange because my uncle Hurşit wasn’t with us. My uncle has disappeared for 43 days. I just want to see him again. I know nothing happens to my uncle; however the state is hiding. My uncle has disappeared because he wanted to stay at home. I couldn’t kiss his hand this feast. I am praying now to kiss his handnext feast.”

10-year-old Beritan Katar said that she misses Şırnak and she wants to play in the streets like before. Beritan said, “This feast was incomplete this year for me. Because, I left my many loved ones in Şırnak. Our big brother Hurşit played with us in the streets but he has disappeared. I prayed for my big brother Hurşit when I woke up today. I wish he had been here and given me candies. He was cheerful and he always played games with us.”
