ANKARA - A group of intellectuals, journalists and academics reported themselves in order to be in solidarity with Özgür Gündem daily.

A group of intellectuals, journalists and academics among them Sibel Özbudun, Ercan İpekçi, Fatih Kanat and Temel Demirer gathered in front of Ankara Courthouse. They said, "We report ourselves" in order to be in solidarity with Özgür Gündem daily against showing the journalists who become "Editors-in-Chief on Watch" as target.

Ercan İpekçi made the speech in behalf of the group. Ercan reminded the accusations for the arrest of Turkey Human Rights Foundation (TİHV) Chair Şebnem Korur Fincancı, Reporters Without Borders (RSF) Turkey Representative Erol Önderoğlu, and journalist author Ahmet Nesin and he said, "We put our signature to these words, we report that we are ready to attend the present cases as defendant. We will report ourselves by applying to prosecutors."

The group gave the criminal complaint petition filed about themselves to Public Prosecutor of Ankara.
