ÊLIH - Leyla Okalin (nom de guerre: Hevi Havin) died in Şırnak's Beytüşşebap district. She was sent off on the shoulders of women. Leyla's brother Turan Okalin made speech at funeral ceremony. "We put our heart and soul into the struggle more whenever one falls a martyr." said Turan.

Leyla Okalin (nom de guerre: Hevi Havin) passed away with her four of her friends on July 5 in Şırnak's Beytüşşebap district due to air strike. She was sent off on an eternal journey in her hometown Batman. The funeral of Leyla was taken from Şırnak State Hospital to Batman by her family and members of the Mesopotamia Association of Assistance and Solidarity for Familieswith Lost Relatives (MEYA-DER). Thousands of people attended the funeral of Leyla at the entrance of the city. The Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Batman MP Ayşe Acar Başaran, the HDP and DBP (Democratic Regions Party) administrators and thousands of citizens attended the funeral ceremony. The ceremony began by keeping minute of silence for the people those who lost their life in the struggle of democracy and freedom.

Leyla's brother Turan Okalin made speech at funeral ceremony. He said, "We should put our heart and soul into the struggle more for the freedom of Kurdish people and our martyrs. We put our heart and soul into the struggle more whenever one falls a martyr. Kurdish people will become free in this struggle."

Leyla's coffin was carried over the shoulders of women. She was sent off on an eternal journey by thousands of people.
