GRÊ SPÎ - A Shengal woman, who had been abducted by ISIS gangs and recently managed to flee with the help of the YPG (People's Defense Units) and the QSD forces (the Syrian Democratic Forces), said that the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) gave them to ISIS gangs by selling. The Êzidî woman captured by ISIS told the atrocity that women and children faced and called on everyone to take action.
On 3 August 2014, ISIS gangs attacked and captured Shengal. They killed many Êzidî people and sold thousands of women as sex slaves. While captured women faced inhuman applications, some of them managed to flee. According to Fırat News Center (ANF), one Êzidî woman, who managed to flee from gangs and didn't want to give her name for security reasons, told the atrocity of gang and drew attention the relationship between the KDP and ISIS. The woman stated that the KDP gave them to ISIS gangs by selling them. She said that thousands of Êzidî woman are still in the hands of ISIS.
The Êzidî woman said: "The KDP fled and left us alone when ISIS gangs came. They gave us to gangs. We wouldn't suffer so much, if there was a force to protect us. The KDP forces withdrew without fighting when gangs attacked Shengal. Thereupon ISIS gangs captured thousands of people by occupying Shengal and its villages. We were held in Mosul for a year. The KDP guaranteed that gangs wouldn't come to Shegal instead of protecting us. We believed them and stayed at our homes. On 3 August 2014, the KDP forces fled when gangs attacked on Shengal. Êzidî fought against gangs in the city for a while; however, neither weapons nor ammunition were enough. When we saw the KDP foces flee, we tried to reach mountain by running for our life. However, we were late and couldn't reach the mountain. Gangs captured us. They gathered Êzidî people together in a place in the city; then they took us to Mosul. We stayed in Mosul for a year with our families. There wasn't any communication so we didn't know who are where and how many people were killed. ISIS gangs' members killed people, who didn't surrender them by using guns or beheading them. One year passed in pressure and pain.
"I stayed with my husband and several family members in Musol.A year later; they separated me from my husband. I was pregnant that time. I gave birth to my baby three months later. They took young girls. They sold them as sex slaves. They began to use us like we were their own property. They took the children for training. They began to brainwash the children. They used the men for hard works. Then, we learned that some of them had been killed. They forced elderly women to cook for them.
"They took our children. After a while, we saw our children, they told us that we were infidels and killing of us was halal. We learned that they sent our children to various places as suicide bomber. They forced us to watch the video in which children exploded themselves. There are hundreds of children like that. They train the children and give them drugs and send them some places as suicide bomber. Perhaps, they will use these children against Êzidî people; we don't know. Everyone must take action against gangs."
