Hesekê women evaluate child marriage

HESEKÊ - Hesekê women said that child marriage causes demage on women and said that: "Women those who forced to marry when they are children, are deprived of their childhood."

Married in small age causes demage on women's psychology, physic and characteristics. Hesekê women evaluated child marriage to our agency.

Women's Department in Municipal Council administration, Mehabat Hesen Sedo, said about child marriage: "Child marriage brings a lot of pain with it; however, comparing now with the past, people are more awakener. Again, incidents like this do not happen so well. For everybody, a 16-year-old person is still child. When they marry in those ages, they get very serious illnesses. When women go from house to another, they have mental and physical problems. And this causes divorce."

Mehabat evaluated that the child marriage is a big mistake and she continues like this way: "Children still aren't big enough to marry; they cannot go from their families' houses to another and become a mother. Our people must know that mistakes bring another mistakes. So that is why we must not marry our children, especialy girls."

Member of the Municipal Council of Hesekê named Evîn Dawûd, said that: "Marriage under 18 isn't right. Because the person under 18 age is still a child and cannot give his/her decision about many things, or her/his perspective is not complementary to come forward. Marriage wants responsibly. Woman, who marry in a small age, remains under financial and moral responsibility of the family. One of reason of child marriage is financial possibility. Some families say that marry their girls early is better."

Another reasons of child marriage is effect Indian, Turkish and foreign movies on youth, said Evîn and continued to talk by saying: "In these serials and movies, marriage is being encouraged and small children are affected. First, they don't understand how worse is these things and they follow them, but then they regret what they did."

In the end, Evîn called on all families and youths to prevent their children to marry and not disturb their and children's life.".
