EFRİN - The meeting about the increasing femicide has been organized in the Eşrefiyê Neighborhood of Efrin Canton by Kongra Star

Kongra Star organized a meeting in the Eşrefiyê of Afrin related to increasing number of the femicide. Rendezvous with photos of fighters, posters of the PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan and flags of Kongra Star were decorated. People in the neighborhood participated in the meeting began with a minute of silence. Then, Kongra Star administrator Zelal Ciger pointed out that only in Efrîn Canton 10 women have been killed and burned.

Zelal continued: "It's been five thousand years, women have faced with the patriarchal mentality. This issue isn't only women's issue, this is a problem of the whole society, because the women is the basis of building societies. Women should resist against slavery and cruelty. For the solution of this problem, each woman and man should be educated. Kurdish women can overcome with all problems that they will face, with education and science."

Zelal said that she will never accept the femicide and continued that: "We will never accept the ongoing femicide in Canton. We will not remain silent against those guilty. We will punish all those who take women under the pretext of honor killing. From now on, we will write a new history against men's oppression with science and education. Every woman should start to build the future of free society."

During the meeting, the murder of women in Afrin Canton was discussed.
