MÊRDÎN - As "curfew" has been imposed in Mardin's Nusaybin district approximately five months, the Yenişehir and Dicle neighborhoods have been enclosed with wires. The women waiting to return to their neighborhoods say they will begin to rebuild their neighborhoods immediately.

As "curfew" has lasted for 132 days in Mardin's Nusaybin district, the Yenişehir and Dicle neighborhoods have been enclosed with wires. Women, who want to return to their homes, say that they know their homes have been burned and demolished; however, they will set up tents on where their homes are or they will rebuild their homes with soil. They said, "Our all things are in Nusaybin and we are happy there. Nusaybin is our land and homes."

Şadiye Duman stated that they left Nusaybin approximately five months ago and she said, "My home in Nusaybin was two-storey. We had a store under our home. My children worked there. Now, we pay 600 lira for rent. We pay 200 lira or sometimes 300-400 lira for electricity bill. We won't stay here, we'll return to Nusaybin. We stay at home always here. We were with our neighbors in Nusaybin, we were at our home."

Şadiye noted that she passed her childhood in Nusaybin: "We like there, it is our land and our home. We knew everyone there. Our home was demolished; however, we'll set up tent to live there. We'll rebuild Nusaybin with our neighbors."

A high school student Mine Duman told us what she faced in Nusaybin after curfew declared; "I had to leave the school. I was worried about my friends. There wasn't water and electricity. No food. You saw blood. You couldn't sleep due to gunshots or if you fell asleep, you had a nightmare. Children cried all time. You knew there was a war and you were mentally depressed. It was very difficult to come here to us. Nusaybin means everything for me. I miss my town."

Murşida Karakuş said that they were forced to leave Nusaybin by police; "I came to Nusaybin when I was four years old. I am tailor for 20 years. Nusaybin was our land, homes. They say they will build TOKİ buildings (the division for state housing) in Nusaybin bring another people. We want to live with our people. Our language is same and we know each other.
