AMED - "If something happens to our leader, nobody can stop Kurdish people." said Peace Mothers who worry for the health and safety conditions of the PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan. Mothers called on all Kurdish people to take to streets against ongoing isolation.

Kurdish people demanded a meeting to be arranged with the PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan by worrying for his health and safety conditions following the coup attempt by the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK). The rights to visit, written communication and phone conversation of the PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan and other prisoners held in İmralı have been banned during the course of the State of Emergency. Peace Mothers, who make statements in every city, call on everyone to take to streets until a meeting to be arranged with Abdullah Öcalan.

Halise Albay from Diyarbakır Peace Mothers Assembly said that nobody can stop Kurdish people if something bad happens to Abdullah Öcalan. "Why don't they allow our leader see his family and lawyers? They should tell us the reason. They also know very well that if something happens to our leader, nobody can stop Kurdish people. We concern about him now. But our concern will not stay in silence like that, everyone will rise and no one would stop us. For long time, no one has seen him or talked to him. This isolation is the isolation of the government and the isolation imposed on our leader should be ended." said Halise.

Another Peace Mother Saadet Görenç, meanwhile, said, "Isolation has been imposed on Abdullah Öcalan for one year. Therefore, a wall has been put between him and the world. Kurdish people should rise against this isolation. There must be a major uprising in all cities and other countries. A game has been played on the Kurdish people for long time, our demolished cities and towns have been forgotten following the coup attempt and now they want to silence us by imposing isolation."

Saadet noted that they cannot be free without the freedom of Abdullah Öcalan; "Thence, everyone should rise. All Kurdish people shoud take to streets for our leadership. As mothers, we always are advocates peace, we say don't let anyone die; however, our red line is Abdullah Öcalan. If something happens to him, as mothers, we'll cause a revolt."

Perihan Karayel is another Peace Mothers. She said, "In which country, there is isolation on their leader. Abdullah Öcalan is the leader of Kurdish people. Turkish state has imposed isolation on our leader for years. We don't accept this isolation. They don't allow his family and lawyers talk to him. If something happens to our leader, we'll collapse Turkey around them. We'll be in the streets until the isolation imposed on him to be ended."
