MANBIJ - As Manbij people continue to go safe areas by fleeing from the atrocity of ISIS, Xesun Recep from Manbij Peoples' Assembly stated that they have overcome all difficulties, particularly food need, by organizing. She called for aid support through our agency to all international organizations.
Manbij was a rich city a few years ago; however, the people have become poor following the captivity of ISIS. Rising prices and falling incomes have picked on people as a part of ISIS's inhuman system. As many places have been liberated following the operation to liberate Manbij, Manbij Peoples' Assembly has tried to solve the peoples' problems. Food need is one of the biggest problems for the people. To solve the food need, the price of bread that ranged from 300 lira to 500 lira during the captivity of ISIS, has been decreased to 65 lira. Breads have been produced in the formed People Bakery to meet people's daily need. Flour bags have been distributed in where there aren't bakeries. That's to say people have overcome the difficulties by organizing.
Manbij Peoples' Assembly member Xesun Recep said that they have tried to support the people and solve peoples' problems. Xesun said, "We have tried to solve the peopes' problems to the best of our ability. We have opened bakeries in some places and we have distributed flour bags in other places where there aren't bakeries. However, these aren't enough because many people come here by fleeing from ISIS every day. We haven't received any aids from outside. I want to call for aids to all international organizations through your agency."
