AMED - Kadriye Akıncı has protested the day the PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan brought to Turkey by wearing black dresses for 17 years. "Because we are tied to our Leadership" said Kadriye.

On February 15, 1999, PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan was arrested with international conspiracy and was given to the Turkish state. Thousands of people protested that by taking to streets and condemned the international conspiracy with actions. In Amed a woman named Kadriye Akıncı, has wore black dresses to protest the arrest of the PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan for 17 years. Kadriye talked about her love for the leader and said that: "I will wear the black dresses, until our Leadership becomes free. My shroud should be black if I die before our leadership becomes free. When I heard that our leader had been arrested, I was shocked. I couldn't believe that he had been arrested. It was raining. I went out in the rain and it began to rain heavy. I couldn't believe the captivity of our Leadership, the captivity of our Leadership was a death for us, because we are tied to our Leadership. We love our leader so much and he is our president. Hundreds of women have worn black dresses not colorful dresses like me since then."

Kadriye noted that on February 15, is a "black day" for them and said that: "Not only 15 of February is a black day for us, but also each day our leader is held in Imralı is a "black day" for us. An aggravated isolation has been imposed upon our Leader. No one gets news from him. We concern about his life. They should understand that if something happens to our Leader, we will collapse their world."
