DERSİM - "We took Aziz Güler's body with the spirit of joint struggle and solidarity and we'll take Eylem Ataş's body with the same way." said the ESP (Socialist Party of the Oppressed) Party Council member and Suruç veteran İlke Başak Baydar and stated that they will continue the struggle until they take Eylem's Ataş's body to her homeland.

United Liberation Forces (BÖG) fighter Eylem Ataş (nom de guerre Cemre Heval) died on June 27, 2016 when fighting against ISIS within scope of operation to liberate Manbij. Eylem's body hasn't been given to her family since then. Eylem's family applied to Suruç District Governorship to take their daughter's body; however, their applications have been refused by showing several excuses. The ESP (Socialist Party of the Oppressed) Party Council member and Suruç veteran İlke Başak Baydar pointed to the historic resistance in Rojava and said, "We have martyrs who sacrificed their life for this honorable and freedom resistance. Most of bodies of our martyrs haven't been brought to Turkey yet. Their bodies have been held at the border gate. Not given children's bodies to their families are a torture method."

Eylem Aktaş's body has been held at the border gate for 34 days. İlke said that they will take her body with the spirit of joint struggle and solidarity, "Eyle Ataş was born on these lands; however, they haven't allowed us to bury her body on her own lands. And that's also an attempt to ignore the female's body and struggle. We took Aziz Güler's body with the spirit of joint struggle and solidarity and we'll take Eylem Ataş's body with the same way."

İlke pointed out that they will continue the struggle of immortal fighters and, "The state tortures the dead bodies. We will continue our struggle until we get all our comrades' bodies, particularly Eylem Ataş's body, which have been held at the border gate, and bury them on their own lands."
