GİRKÊ LEGÊ - Women's Social Defense Forces (HPC-JIN) held its first conference. Women decided to change the name of their forces in the conference. The new name of women's forces is Parastina-Jin (Women's Defense). As women have determined the flag of Parastina-Jin, they say, "We have organized in the direction of perspective of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan and now we have a defense forces."

Yesterday, the First Cizîr Canton HPC-JIN Conference was held in the Labor Union's Hall in the Rimêlan town of Girkê Legê with the participation of 250 delegates. Rojava-Northern Syria Democratic Federal System Constituent Assembly member Foza El-Yûsiv, the Democratic Autonomy Administration, non-governmental organizations, the YPG (People's Protection Units), YPJ (Women's Protection Units) and Asayish (Public Security) members participated in the conference. The conference was started by holding a minute's silence to remember those who died in the struggle for democracy.The Rojava-Northern Syria Democratic Federal System Constituent Assembly member Foza El-Yûsiv made an opening speech and she said that Rojava and Middle East are going through a difficult period, the region is under the attacks of gangs and women have been subjected to violence and torture due to the power's mentality.

Foza stated that women at all ages have taken their part in the HPC and they have protected their society. Foza said, "In this way, no one can defeat us. As women, we have to protect women. We should be in unity against all attacks. We should do that in order to prevent massacres like in Shengal. We should organize in each field."

Women decided to change the name of their forces in the conference following the discussion. The new name of women's forces is Parastina-Jin (Women's Defense) and they determined the flag of Parastina-Jin.

A council of 45 people, a coordination of 13 people, a president and vice-presidents were elected in the conference. Xaliya Husêin was elected as president of Cizîr Canton Parastina-Jin Forces.
